Gratitude and Hope

Are you lost?
Lonely?
Frustrated?
Overwhelmed?

Is life complicated?
Challenging?
Difficult?

When life seems too much to bear…

Stop. Say a prayer of gratitude – and reset. Yes, life can be complicated and messy. It can also be beautiful and joyful. Sometimes you have to get out of your own way and come back to a place of gratitude.

Easier said than done?

Absolutely.

But if you are able to find even the smallest sense of gratitude you can also find HOPE – and that can save you.

Hope knows there are better days ahead. Hope allows you to begin working towards the positive, distancing yourself from the self-defeating negative. Hope allows you to get out of your own head – I know, that can be a scary place to be. Especially if, like me, you have a strong inner critic – it can be deafening.

Walk outside – literally. Even on the worst weather day – breathe in fresh air. Feel the snow, rain drops, the moonlight – whatever Mother Nature has in store for you. Just pause for a few moments and whisper a quiet prayer of gratitude.

Come back to a place of hope.
Come back to a place of gratitude.

Perhaps that means doing some Soulwork. Maybe it simply means repeating a mantra of your favorite scripture verse, or encouraging words (Star Wars fans, think “I am one with the force and the force is with me”). Do something, move forward, know you are not alone.

Oprah Winfrey’s wisdom sums it up best:

“The single greatest thing you can do to change your life today would be to start being grateful for what you have right now.”
